 Bobolink

     The bobolink is a migratory bird at home in grasslands and wetlands. They spend their summers in North America and winter in Argentina.

     Louis Agassiz Fuertes (1874 - 1927) American ornithologist, illustrator and artist graduated from Cornell in 1897. In pursuit of new bird species, Fuertes traveled to Alaska, much of the United States, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Canada, Mexico, Columbia and Ethiopia.

     He collaborated with the American Museum of Natural History performing field research, painting dioramas and book illustrations.

     Fuertes lectured on Ornithology at Cornell from 1923, illustrated more than 60 books and contributed hundreds of works for magazine articles.
