waiting room

Last Tuesday found me at a place called the Memory Center.

The office of a Neuropsychologist.

His patients suffer from brain disorders such as dementia, alzheimer's, parkinson's, and other afflictions with which I am not familiar.

The office does testing to determine neurological and psychological equilibrium, or, the lack thereof.

Every patient in the waiting room but myself was accompanied by either a wife or a daughter.

The afflicted had vacant smiles, like the tenants' attention was elsewhere, looking out another window, perhaps.

Or barefoot on the beach...
